A Flock of Flamingos

Sometimes it's the little things in life that bring the most pleasure, such as flamingos in your yard...

Kissing their new friends. Tagging them with little labels that read "I love you".

They're a bit sad that the flock takes off later this evening to grace another yard.

The sudden flocking of our yard is part of a fundraiser for a Habitat for Humanity house our church is building. Neat idea: people have been slowing, stopping, gawking, asking, and chatting to us about all the pink hoopla on the green all day.

Wow that is such a cool thing to do. Are you on curtain making duty for this house, or do you get all hard hat with a hammer??

Dear Mrs. C.,

Curtain duty? What a good idea! Actually, I'll probably end up as a gopher, you know, "go fer" this 'n that as needed by the crew up on the scaffolding and ladders.

Last time, and this was years ago, I had the pleasant job of handing nails to the guy who pounded them into roofing material double time.

My carpentry skills aren't exactly stellar :}

I like the idea of curtains, though.

Hugs,

Natalie
